Hot Springs Log Cabins - Cozy Honeymoon Cabins with Hot Tubs in the NC mountains!
( Romantic, Private, and Secluded honeymoon cabins in the woods in the North Carolina Mountains, 6 miles south of Hot Springs NC)

Thank You, Return Guests!!!

We are very proud that in the short time (since 2005) we have been open, we have already had 202 couples stay with us at least two times, some 3, 4, or even 5 times (as of April 2011)!

Many others have stayed at Hot Springs Log Cabins based on a personal referral.

This pleases us greatly that so many people have come to our cabins, appreciated our thought, care, and hardwork, and chosen to come visit us again and/or refer their friends. Thank you!!!

We consider this to be the best recommendation for us and our cabins to those who have not yet stayed with us. We must be doing something right!

(Our first cabin opened August 2005, with the 5th cabin being finished May 2006.)

Hot Springs Log Cabins
Guest Comments:

We really enjoy the notes our guests (and sometimes our pet guests!) leave us! A typical note reads something like: "Great comfy and cozy cabin, you thought of everything! We really enjoyed the comfortable bed and of course the hot tub. It was so nice to get away from "life" and have time for just the two of us. We got engaged at Max Patch.
We will be back soon!"

A couple of recent comments:

The Pine - "My new wife told me we would really like it here. She was right. Guess I ought to remember that."

The Hound Heaven - "Our labs really enjoyed having The Meadow just outside the cabin to run and play in. We enjoyed the wonderful views. Thanks for another wonderful stay." - 3 time return guests

The Holly - "I went swimming in Spring Creek and running all over the Meadow. I really liked Max Patch and thought I was really brave when that squirrel challenged me. At the end of the day though I was so tired that my Mom and Dad had to carry me into the cabin and place me in front of the fire." -A city dog

The Oak - "When Mike and Amy say to stop and get groceries before you arrive, do what they say!"

The Paw Print - "This was our second stay with you and we enjoyed it as much as the first. Thank you!"

Why should I come to Hot Springs Log Cabins?
We have hot tubs, gas grills, washer/dryers, and fireplaces, plus the little touches like laundry soap, spices, and acrylic hot tub glasses. Ever gone to a cabin and found yourself drinking that special bottle of wine out of coffee cups after you destroyed the cork with your Swiss Army knife? At Hot Springs Log Cabins you'll find both wine and champagne glasses and two corkcrews - plus the appropriate place to recycle your bottles.

We welcome pets and provide a pooch pail of toys as well as food and water bowls. We donate your entire $25 pet fee to the local spay and neuter program every time you bring your pet to Hot Springs Log Cabins. This goes a long way towards improving the welfare of both animals and people in our community. We are very proud to be helping local animals in this manner.

We work very hard to ensure that your cabin is spotlessly clean with all amenities in good working order. If you are not bringing a pet, you will only know it's a pet friendly cabin by seeing the pooch pail of toys.

We have also taken great care to provide a "concierge book" in each cabin full of local menus, hiking trails, and suggestions for activities as well as detailed instructions for all our amenities.

We invite you to look around at all other available lodging in our area. We think you will find that we offer the best value for your money, particularly if you book one of our Midweek Specials, Honeymoon Packages, or Week Stays. You can find cheaper lodging further out or with fewer amenities (gas grills, washer/dyers, and hot tubs cost a lot to maintain and operate), but you will also find many who charge as much or more and offer you significantly less. You be the judge.

Our cabins are very private from one another so that you can enjoy your wooded seclusion. (5 cabins on 11 wooded acres.) Our cabins are not side by side or face to face or stacked upon one another as you so often find. Inside you will find plenty of little bears and woodland decor to make you smile, a cozy all wood interior, plus cloth napkins for that romantic dinner for two.

We chose the location of our cabins because of the wonderful views and seclusion the property provides, while being directly off the paved road. We are 6 miles south of town so you can eat out or visit The Hot Springs Spa if you like, but enjoy the rural beauty of the mountains when you come back. Hiking trails are all around us with Max Patch being a highlight of nearly everyone's stay. Rafting and horseback riding opportunities exist, as does a drive into Asheville and The Biltmore. Then again, some of our guests arrive with all their groceries and never leave their cabin. It's your choice.

You guys do some weird things like not having a phone number on your website and having only certain days that you can check in and check out. What's up with that?
We do some things differently as the very things that make our cabins unique, do also pose some challenges. We have a safe and secure way for you to make your reservation online, but this system also means that we cannot check availability or take a reservation over the phone if we are not in front of our computer. We do not feel it is good business practice to post a phone number that will only infrequently find us at our desk. To compensate for this, I have tried to make this website as informative as possible plus you are always welcome to email us if you have other questions.
We do give you our home phone number as soon as you make a reservation. We forward to a cell during the day and it rings on our bedside table at night. This ensures that our guests who are staying with us or have future reservations can reach us if needed.
We are on call for our guests 365 days per year.
We do need to have a couple days a week to schedule doctor appts, classes, etc, or just to go to Asheville to buy toilet paper and refill propane bottles. (With Asheville being an hour away it's hard to fit it in along with a midday cabin cleaning.) We are still on call for our guests and frequently doing cabin business on those days (paperwork, laundry, buying supplies) but we do also plan personal activities.

This system is just the best compromise we could make that allows us to run our business and offer you our "cozy log cabins for two" at such a great value. The huge number of return guests that we enjoy is indicative of the effort we put into ensuring that your cabin getaway is fun and enjoyable.
We appreciate your understanding.

Who wouldn't enjoy Hot Springs Log Cabins?
As the saying goes, "If you are likely to be irritable, grumpy, or just plain mean upon arrival, please book your stay elsewhere!" We want our guests to have a wonderful time at our cabins and make plans to come see us again. We have written every word of this website, just as we designed every inch of our cabins. If you appreciate the attention to detail you see on our website, please be assured that the same attention to detail will be found in the cabins themselves. I took all the pictures with a little camera and have not altered them in any way.

Nonetheless, we are not for everybody as our cabins are set up to be self-sufficient lodging in a rural area. Some examples of people for whom our cabins are not appropriate:

If you really like Pancake Houses or the shops of Gatlinburg, we may be too rural.
If your health requires you be within a few miles of a medical facility.
If you have more than two in your party.
If you can only stay one night or need to check-in or out on Saturdays or Wednesdays.
If the thought of hearing an animal (most likely a racoon) outside your cabin scares you.
If you prefer a resort style atmosphere with a front desk and many dining options.
If you prefer daily maid service.
If "quiet" scares you.

We are proud to offer you our private and secluded cabins in the woods!

We look forward to having you as our guest at Hot Springs Log Cabins, the perfect place for a
honeymoon, anniversary, or romantic cabin rendezvous.
